Cancellation
This Policy governs the fee commitments and cancellation terms applicable to all Engagements on the AML Guild platform.
This Policy governs the fee commitments and cancellation terms applicable to all Engagements on the AML Guild platform. It forms part of the AML Guild policy suite and should be read alongside the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Service Delivery and Fulfilment Policy.
By confirming a booking on the Platform, Clients acknowledge and accept the terms of this Policy in full. AML Guild strongly encourages Clients to review Expert profiles thoroughly and ensure internal approvals are in place before confirming any Engagement.
No-Refund Position
All bookings and Engagements on the Platform are strictly non-refundable. Once a booking is confirmed and a Fee is committed, no refund will be issued under any circumstances.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Change of mind or business priority following confirmation
- Failure to engage the Expert within a scheduled session window
- Dissatisfaction with the direction or outcome of advice received
- Regulatory developments that alter the relevance of the subject matter
- Internal organisational changes on the Client's side
This position applies uniformly across all Engagement types: hourly, fixed-fee, variable time and effort, and assignment-based.
Engagement types are defined in Clause 1 of the Terms of Service and described in detail in Clause 4.
No Cancellations Once Work Has Commenced
An Engagement is considered to have commenced from the moment an Expert has:
- Acknowledged and accepted the Engagement Agreement
- Conducted any preparatory review, research, or scoping activity in connection with the matter
- Participated in any scheduled call, session, or communication with the Client
Once any of the above has occurred, the full Fee agreed in the Engagement Agreement becomes due and payable, regardless of whether the Client wishes to continue.
Where a Client elects not to continue following commencement, the Expert is entitled to retain all Fees paid and to invoice for any remaining balance in accordance with the Engagement Agreement.
Pre-Commencement Bookings
Even prior to commencement, all bookings are non-refundable once confirmed. Clients are responsible for ensuring that:
- The Expert's profile, qualifications, and areas of specialisation have been reviewed before booking
- The scope and nature of the compliance matter have been considered before commitment
- Internal budget and mandate approvals are in place before confirming an Engagement
AML Guild does not accept liability for bookings made in error or without adequate internal authorisation.
Expert Non-Performance
Where an Expert is demonstrably unable to commence or complete a confirmed Engagement due to circumstances on their part, and AML Guild determines, following review, that the Expert has failed to meet their obligations, AML Guild will endeavour to:
- Facilitate a replacement Expert of equivalent qualification and experience at no additional cost to the Client
- Where a suitable replacement cannot be arranged within a reasonable period, issue a platform credit to the value of the uncommenced portion of the Engagement
Such remedies are at AML Guild's discretion following its internal review and do not constitute an entitlement to a cash refund. AML Guild's determination is final.
Expert performance obligations and quality oversight are set out in the Service Delivery and Fulfilment Policy.
Fee Disputes
Any dispute regarding Fees must be raised with AML Guild in writing within 7 days of the relevant invoice or payment being issued. Disputes raised after this period will not be entertained.
A fee dispute does not entitle a Client to withhold payment pending resolution. All amounts due under an Engagement Agreement remain payable on the agreed schedule.
The dispute resolution process is set out in Clause 11 of the Terms of Service.
Platform Service Charges
AML Guild's platform service charge, where applicable, is non-refundable in all circumstances. This charge covers Expert vetting, matching, milestone oversight, and platform maintenance.
